Over the last few days, fashion in India has been the bone of contention. The Indian fashion industry is reshaping itself and opting the path of digitalization to showcase and take fashion in India one step forward. Recently at the Lakme Fashion Week 2020 Digital First Season Fluid Edition, the Circular Design Challenge presented the winning “Malai” collection in collaboration with Reliance Industries Ltd.’s R|Elan Fashion for Earth, United Nations Environment programme and Lakmé Fashion Week. The apparel and accessories collection- Malai made an amazingly stunning impression among sustainable fashion enthusiasts.

Susmith Chempodil and Zuzana Gombosova of “Malai” won the 2nd Circular Design Challenge at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2020. Susmith Chempodil and Zuzana Gombosova’s collection took inspiration from the ecology and life cycle of the coconut palm, which was truly an avant-garde concept.
